Surrey City Council cuts energy use 60% with TerraGo

The Surrey City Council sought to make their city smarter and more sustainable by undertaking a major project to replace or retrofit approximately 89,000 streetlamps with energy-efficient LEDs. To manage this complex deployment, they partnered with TerraGo and used its StreetlightOps software.

TerraGo's solution automated the commissioning of networked lighting controllers to an upgraded CMS. This implementation provided an intelligent, scalable system that is expected to save 7,700 tons of carbon emissions annually and deliver 60 percent energy savings. The TerraGo software also provides the council with data to better manage safety, maintenance, and future smart city applications.
