Case Study: Jamaica Public Service achieves faster smart streetlight deployment with TerraGo

JPS is deploying a country-wide smart street light control program utilizing TerraGo Streetlights

Jamaica Public Service, Jamaica’s sole electricity distributor, needed to deploy more than 100,000 smart streetlights on schedule while linking field crews, supervisors, and back-office systems in real time. The utility turned to TerraGo StreetlightOps to replace manual spreadsheet-based processes and support a major smart grid and smart city rollout.

TerraGo integrated with Itron SLV and Esri GIS to automate commissioning, streamline field workflows, and provide live dashboards and mobile apps for crews and supervisors. The result was a nationwide deployment of 110,000 smart LED streetlights, more than 30 GWh of energy savings per year, and over 40,000 tons of CO2 eliminated annually, while also removing paper forms, reducing errors, and speeding future smart city expansion.
