Old Dominion University, a large university in Norfolk, Virginia with more than 24,000 students, needed a better way to manage its international students and scholars. Its previous on-premise system required multiple data entries across three separate locations, slow nightly uploads, no comprehensive scholar site, and updates that often never happened because there was no designated IT employee to maintain the software. An internal audit also exposed serious data reconciliation concerns.

The university chose Terra Dotta and implemented its ISSS cloud solution, going live in fall 2019. With Terra Dotta, Old Dominion University no longer waits for nightly uploads or manually enters data in multiple systems, can quickly reissue I-20s when regulations change, and has reduced pressure on staff and IT. Kasie Reyes said the team now feels confident ahead of audits and that Terra Dotta is “a whole new world.”
