Marquette University Maintaining Duty of Care with Real-time Data

Marquette University needed a faster way to locate and alert students, faculty, and staff traveling abroad when international events created safety risks. Before Terra Dotta, the study abroad team had to sort through emails and manually match impacted travelers, which could delay communication during weekends or technical issues.

Marquette University deployed Terra Dotta’s AlertTraveler to automatically identify registered travelers, provide country and city intelligence, and send immediate notifications. The system helped the university track down students in London after the 2017 London Bridge attack, alert 18 students in Oman during the 2019 Gulf of Oman tanker attack, and quickly locate students during COVID-19 travel disruptions, saving the team a lot of time.
