Bucknell University - Customer Case Study

Bucknell University needed a faster, more efficient, and more streamlined way to manage study abroad. The office had been using a slow homegrown applicant system and later found that Symplicity by Horizons still left it with inefficient, confusing workflows for both staff and students.

With Terra Dotta’s Study Abroad platform and AlertTraveler, Bucknell moved application and program updates online, made them easier to manage in batches, and improved student communication. Trace Coats said it now takes three hours to add a new program instead of at least a day, and Bucknell’s emergency outreach improved as well: after the November 2015 Paris attack, checking in with students in Europe took 113 days and 7 people, while in March 2020 the same type of outreach took 1 day and 1 person.
