Grindr builds a 40+ person engineering team in Latin America with Terminal

Grindr, a leading LGBTQ+ social networking platform, needed to scale its engineering team quickly and cost-effectively while fostering a collaborative, in-person environment. Facing strong competition for talent in the US, they partnered with Terminal to build their first international Engineering Center of Excellence in Latin America.

Terminal successfully implemented a nearshore hiring solution in Medellín, Colombia, rapidly building a co-located team. The initial goal of 7 hires was exceeded, scaling the team to over 40 engineers and 3 engineering managers in just over a quarter. Terminal delivered an estimated 50% cost savings (approximately $5 million annually) for Grindr while maintaining a strong hiring efficiency with a ~5:1 submission-to-hire ratio.
