Thomas Jefferson School of Law - Customer Case Study

Thomas Jefferson School of Law (TJSL), a 1,000‑student independent law school, needed to modernize an aging IT estate while moving into a new LEED‑certified facility. Facing just 16 weeks to replace 35 servers and 200 desktop PCs and deliver a rich multimedia desktop experience (RDP proved inadequate for video and collaborative teaching), the IT team sought a virtual desktop solution that preserved a local‑like user experience and met green‑building goals.

TJSL deployed VMware View with Teradici PCoIP, Samsung PCoIP zero‑client displays and the Teradici Management Console, completing the rollout in four months. The project cut servers from 35 to 7, eliminated 200 desktops, and deployed 200 zero clients while enabling seamless video streaming, easy remote access from laptops and tablets, and centralized firmware/profile management; it also reduced power use by about 75%, extended endpoint life, and allowed the data center to be cooled with just two small air conditioners.
