Cisco needed accurate product-level demand forecasts across a highly diverse portfolio—more than 18,000 product IDs—yet data lived in multiple systems, demand patterns varied by product lifecycle and customer type, and finance, sales, and supply chain used different metrics and definitions. Pulling together historical enterprise data and forward-looking sales and marketing insight while securing broad organizational buy-in was critical but difficult.

Cisco built a solution combining an enterprise data warehouse, tailored analytic forecasting models, and a monthly cross-functional consensus process that produces weekly forecasts on a 24-month horizon and feeds them back into company systems. This approach raised forecast accuracy by about 12%, boosted utilization and collaboration across finance, sales, marketing, demand planning and IT, and delivered measurable benefits across supply chain, sales and finance.
