Case Study: Intel achieves centralized global spend visibility and significant cost savings with Teradata

A Teradata Case Study

Preview of the Intel Case Study

Integrating and leveraging global spend data at Intel Corporation

Intel faced fragmented, inconsistent spend data scattered across multiple ERP instances, business units, and geographies, which made it slow and costly to analyze overall spend and supplier performance. To address this, Intel launched the Global Procurement Reporting (GPR) initiative to centralize and standardize procurement data and drive high‑impact business requirements.

GPR standardized business terms and master data, extracted detailed spend into an enterprise data warehouse, and coordinated closely with an ERP re‑implementation and a governance structure staffed by business and IT. The program captured over 98% of procurement spending, helped deliver more than $300M in eProcurement value, improved supplier negotiations and cross‑functional collaboration, and shifted Intel’s EDW strategy toward integrated, “data‑on‑demand” services (earning an IT Excellence Award).
