BAWAG PSK, a leading Austrian retail bank formed by a 2005 merger and serving over a million customers through 150 branches and 1,300 postal outlets, needed to boost cross-sell, retention and marketing efficiency. Its existing Oracle warehouse provided only basic segmentation, early joint promotions averaged ~5% success, and campaign processes were manual, siloed and poorly timed, limiting targeting and scalability.

The bank implemented a Teradata analytical CRM (data warehouse and Warehouse Miner) and then Teradata Relationship Manager to automate lead optimization, enable event-based, multi‑channel and closed-loop campaigns, and introduce dashboards and KPIs. The result: campaign success rates doubled on average (some event-driven campaigns reached 55%), contact rates rose more than 30%, campaign setup costs fell 3–5×, recurring campaign costs dropped ~10×, and the bank expects to recoup the Relationship Manager investment within a year.
