Healthcare System Improves Efficiencies with VoIP and Unified Communications Solutions

Catholic Health, a nonprofit healthcare system in Western New York, was struggling with outdated, unsupported PBX phone systems across its hospitals and remote sites. The unstable environment required frequent reboots, caused outages, and forced IT staff to spend too much time on maintenance, prompting Catholic Health to seek a “five nines” communications upgrade with TERACAI.

TERACAI implemented a VoIP and unified communications solution built on Cisco IP Phones, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Jabber, Cisco WebEx Meetings Server, VMware vSphere, and redundant Cisco infrastructure. The new system improved reliability and emergency call handling, enabled five-digit dialing and easier moves/adds/changes, strengthened collaboration across locations, and reduced telephony support needs and costs—helping Catholic Health minimize downtime and give clinicians more time at the bedside.
