Health System Improves Efficiency with StandardsBased Networking and Wireless Infrastructure

WellSpan Health, a nonprofit healthcare system in central Pennsylvania, needed a more standardized and scalable core networking infrastructure to support growth across four hospitals and more than 90 patient care locations. Its IT team was small relative to the size of the environment, and the organization wanted a true partner—not just a vendor—to help guide long-term strategy. TERACAI stepped in with Cisco networking and wireless technologies, including ASR routers, Nexus switches, wireless controllers, access points, and Cisco Prime Infrastructure software.

TERACAI worked closely with WellSpan to design, test, and implement a standards-based network and wireless architecture that could be deployed consistently across remote sites and hospital facilities. The result was stronger strategic planning, easier implementation, improved reliability, faster return to service after outages, and better communication between caregivers and patients. WellSpan’s environment now supports about 47,000 active network ports and has improved efficiency across its remote locations, helping enable critical services like high-definition stroke consultation video conferencing.
