Oxfam‑Québec, a Montreal‑based international non‑profit working in 20 countries with fewer than 400 staff and 13 partner agencies, needed to replace a patchwork of databases, spreadsheets and emailed files with a single online system to manage project approvals, timesheets, funding disbursements and expense tracking. Manual processes and delayed reporting—often waiting two to three days for month‑end files from overseas—made governance and cash‑based accounting especially difficult, including the need to handle negotiated, variable exchange rates.
Oxfam implemented Tenrox Project Workforce Management for its workflow orientation, adaptability and bilingual support, with customizations including a manual monthly exchange‑rate override and a connector to its Sage Accpac accounting system. The result is a centralized, organization‑wide platform for project, time and expense management with real‑time administrative reviews, added workflow features (notes, attachments, printing) and ongoing enhancements; Oxfam plans to expand Tenrox to handle all project document and knowledge management.
