Auditor General of British Columbia Implements Tenrox to Automate and Manage Project Delivery

The Auditor General of British Columbia, the independent auditor for the province, needed to replace an outdated, disconnected time-entry and project-costing setup that relied on Excel, MS Access and separate accounting and project systems. With over 250 projects, roughly 2,300 financial transactions a year and a project office of up to 110 staff, they required a solution that could track time and expenses against detailed project plans, provide real-time status reporting, and support billing and invoicing.

They implemented Tenrox PSA with Microsoft Project Server integration, a web- and XML-based platform that centralized opportunity management, budgeting, scheduling, timesheets, expense reporting, project accounting and invoicing while importing transactions from the government accounting system. The result was streamlined project tracking, fewer manual errors, improved data quality and visibility, centralized workflow enforcement, and an anticipated $20,000 saving on invoice creation plus clearer status and resource utilization reporting.
