Global Consumer Goods Manufacturer Achieves Significant Savings and Flexibility

Global consumer goods manufacturing Company faced an overburdened, fragmented IT environment after acquisitions and increased cloud adoption — including an overloaded, disparate WAN, aging LAN infrastructure, limited visibility from its incumbent outsourcer, and a need to shift IT from break/fix to strategic work. To address these challenges they engaged TenFour (a Premier Service Provider for Red Forge Continuous Infrastructure Service (CIS®)) to deliver a flexible, centrally managed, on‑premises IT infrastructure-as-a-service.

TenFour conducted a Catalyst study and deployed its pre-tested reference architecture and CIS platform, replacing five regional WANs with a single AT&T‑backed global WAN, modernizing wired/wireless LANs, and adding centralized ITIL-based management and co-management capabilities. The result: doubled WAN bandwidth, deployment times cut from ~2 months to 2 weeks, first‑year savings of $1.37M, WAN staff reduced from 8 to 4, WAN support costs down 39% and LAN operations projected down 40%, with overall TCO improvements of roughly 25–34% (about 30% by 2016) and multi‑year savings exceeding $5M — all delivered by TenFour.
