A TenForce Case Study
De Lijn, the Flemish government company providing public transportation by bus and tram, faced a significant challenge in managing the quality and data of its 36,000 bus stops. The manual, paper-based inspection process was inefficient, and data was stored across five separate, outdated provincial databases. This led to poor data quality, a lack of systematic oversight, and a negative impact on the traveler experience. They required a mobile, digital solution to conduct real-time, standardized assessments.
The vendor TenForce implemented its mobile platform for stop management, enabling crews to perform and transmit inspections with photos on the spot. The pragmatic and flexible implementation involved the stop crew, ensuring quick adoption. By September 2017, the entire network was mapped, providing accurate, useful data per stop. This allowed De Lijn to improve stop quality and communication with partners efficiently, update its route planner, and use the data to further optimize punctuality and the network.
