Rouse, a global intellectual property law firm with offices across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and beyond, needed to improve performance for centralized applications across a distributed network. With users expecting LAN-like responsiveness over limited bandwidth, the firm worked with **Teneo** and Riverbed’s **SteelHead WAN Optimization** solution to reduce latency, boost throughput, and support its centralized IT strategy.

**Teneo** recommended and deployed SteelHead appliances, starting with a pilot between Jakarta and London before rolling out to other offices, managed through SteelCentral Controller for SteelHead. The results were significant: London saw a 93% reduction in HTTP traffic, Bangkok experienced an 80% reduction in HTTP traffic and a 40x bandwidth increase, and Shanghai achieved a 5.9x bandwidth optimization increase with 80% less MAPI traffic. Rouse also improved inter-office collaboration, reduced support costs, and consolidated backups and IT infrastructure.
