Lincolnshire NHS Shared Services accessed advanced network utilization information by deploying Plixer Scrutinizer NetFlow Analyzer

Lincolnshire NHS Shared Services (LSS), hosted by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust, needed a better way to understand network traffic across its large, geographically dispersed WAN. Working with vendor Teneo, LSS sought a NetFlow analysis tool to identify which users and applications were generating the most traffic, so it could make informed decisions without relying on guesswork as the network and user base rapidly expanded.

Teneo implemented Plixer Scrutinizer alongside LSS’s existing SNMPc monitoring, giving the IT team detailed, real-time visibility into traffic flows, bottlenecks, applications, hosts, and conversations consuming bandwidth. The solution was deployed in just a day and helped LSS quickly pinpoint network issues, spot rogue applications and viruses, and assess the impact of changes and upgrades, ultimately improving capacity planning and helping the organization make better use of its limited bandwidth.
