Case Study: RPS Group achieves faster WAN performance with Teneo and Riverbed SteelHead

International consultancy group solve their latency challenges

RPS Group, an international consultancy operating across multiple regions, was struggling with slow WAN links and the need to keep upgrading expensive connections while also enabling better inter-office collaboration. Working with Teneo, the company explored Riverbed SteelHead WAN optimization technology to improve application performance and make better use of existing bandwidth.

Teneo implemented Riverbed SteelHead across key offices, alongside a QoS solution from Allot Communications to prioritize critical traffic. The results were dramatic: a 3Mb file over a 256k link dropped from 6 minutes to just 7 seconds, and RPS typically saw a 2 to 3.5 times capacity increase across WAN connections without adding bandwidth. Teneo’s solution also helped eliminate duplicate file storage on PCs and made it much easier for staff to work seamlessly across offices.
