Azzurri Communications, the UK’s leading independent provider of cloud and managed communications services, needed a scalable way to monitor and visualize more than 15,000 nodes across 230 customer networks. After acquiring businesses such as MiTech and Sirocom, their existing monitoring tool, WhatsUp Gold, could no longer handle the volume or complexity, so they turned to Teneo and Castle Rock SNMPc for a more sophisticated solution.
Teneo implemented a customized SNMPc deployment in Azzurri’s NOCs, using a centralized “Manager of Managers” setup with distributed polling, customer-specific event filters, alerts, and web and Windows consoles. The result was reliable 24/7 monitoring for over 230 customers, faster problem resolution, and a highly scalable platform that supported continued growth; Azzurri also reported that 70–80% of help desk calls were driven by proactive SNMPc alerts.
