Tenable Identity Exposure Delivers Visualization and Protection for Active Directory, the Prime Target for Cyberattacks Leading to Information Breach

Bank of Yokohama, one of Japan’s largest regional banks, sought to strengthen its cybersecurity after identifying cyberthreats as a top industry risk and helping establish a mutual-support CMS-CSIRT with other regional banks. The bank recognized Active Directory as a prime target for attackers but had only relied on periodic patching and lacked tools to detect misconfigurations, dormant accounts, or privilege escalation risks.

The bank selected Tenable Identity Exposure—chosen for its agentless approach and compatibility with their existing Tenable deployment—and rolled it out in early 2024. Deployment was smooth, and the solution delivered clear visualization of Active Directory, exposed dormant accounts and misconfigurations, and provided comprehensive alerts, giving the bank greater visibility into AD risks and tangible peace of mind about its internal attack surface.
