A Tenable Networks Case Study
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), a DoD agency charged with recovering the remains of missing U.S. service members, faced escalating cybersecurity risks as its highly distributed IT environment grew. Sophisticated, frequent attacks and the need for comprehensive visibility across classified and unclassified networks meant DPAA required a unified, flexible and scalable vulnerability management solution that went beyond basic compliance.
DPAA adopted the DoD’s Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), built on Tenable SecurityCenter with Nessus and Nessus Network Monitor, and deployed Nessus on classified networks to enable continuous asset discovery, real-time monitoring, threat intelligence and advanced analytics. The solution provided consolidated visibility, automated compliance, interactive dashboards and risk-based decision support, allowing DPAA to anticipate, prioritize and neutralize cyber threats while sharpening its focus on mission objectives.
