Covenant Health is a Tennessee-based integrated healthcare system operating nine acute care hospitals, numerous outpatient and specialty providers and roughly 1,500 affiliated physicians serving thousands of patients. As its network expanded — covering about 15,000 IPs and 10,000 employees — Covenant needed greater visibility and control over asset discovery, device inventory and regular vulnerability scanning to secure an increasing number of medical devices on its networks.

After a trial of Nessus for vulnerability scanning, Covenant deployed Tenable SecurityCenter and Nessus Network Monitor to centralize assessment operations. The solution provides passive discovery and continuous visibility across the network, consolidates scan results into a single repository and console, and gives Covenant internal control of scans and findings so it can track devices and maintain required annual and quarterly scans.
