A Tenable Networks Case Study
The City of San Diego, the eighth-largest U.S. city with 1.4 million residents, manages a complex IT estate of 24 interconnected networks across 40 departments. It struggled with limited asset visibility, no network maps or risk-evaluation tools, and faced nearly one million cyberattacks per day, creating an urgent need for a non-disruptive, scalable way to prioritize and manage vulnerabilities.
San Diego implemented Tenable SecurityCenter Continuous View with the Nessus scanner to provide continuous, centralized visibility and prioritized threat analytics across legacy and modern systems. The deployment enabled faster remote remediation without disrupting 24/7 operations, cut average monthly infected machines from 200 to 35, and saved the city more than $1.3 million per year.
