Case Study: Bilfinger achieves unified cloud visibility and reduced identity risk with Tenable Networks' Tenable Cloud Security

A Tenable Networks Case Study

Preview of the Bilfinger Case Study

Bilfinger gains visibility into resource risk and what to do about it using Tenable Cloud Security

Bilfinger, a global industrial services provider based in Mannheim with about 30,000 employees, moved the majority of its infrastructure to Microsoft Azure (with AWS as a secondary environment) and now runs most main applications in the cloud. As the multicloud footprint grew—hundreds of Azure subscriptions and diverse workloads—the company faced rising complexity, overprovisioned identities and entitlements, manual risk-detection processes, and a need for unified visibility, least-privilege automation and GDPR-compliant governance.

Bilfinger adopted Tenable Cloud Security, used day-to-day by its IAM team, Cloud Center of Excellence and IT Security, to inventory cloud assets, analyze identity and permission usage, and prioritize remediation. The platform delivered cross-cloud visibility and actionable insights that exposed unused or excessive permissions, reduced manual effort, enabled remediation via ticketing and PDCA workflows, and accelerated governance and security improvements across the organization.
