DigitalOcean Synchronizes Distributed Transactions with Temporal

DigitalOcean, a leading cloud infrastructure provider, needed a better way to keep data in sync across multiple storage systems. Its storage team was struggling with desynchronized resources and lacked a reliable distributed transaction mechanism, leading to operational burden and complicated DIY reconciliation efforts.

Using Temporal Technologies’ Temporal self-hosted platform with the Go SDK, DigitalOcean replaced custom state machines with normal workflow code to orchestrate distributed transactions more reliably. Temporal Technologies helped the team improve data consistency, reduce ongoing maintenance, and speed delivery—cutting the resources needed for these systems from 10 engineers to 5 and shrinking some implementations from 300 lines of code to 30.
