New England Biolabs simplifies to 1 cooler size and extends hold times with TemperPack

New England Biolabs sought to reduce its environmental impact by replacing Styrofoam insulation in its packaging for shipping life science reagents. While sustainability was the main goal, the customer also hoped to improve operational and economic efficiency. They partnered with vendor TemperPack to address this challenge.

TemperPack implemented a custom solution using its ClimaCell thermal liners. This new validated pack-out maintained safe temperatures for longer durations than the previous solution. Working with TemperPack, New England Biolabs consolidated two cooler sizes into one, creating significant operational efficiencies and reducing the manpower required to process returned coolers.
