Royal Bank of Canada needed a way to engage employees worldwide in its Blue Water Project and sustain interest in annual Blue Water Makeovers — hands-on community activities where teams register, share stories and upload photos. To solve this, RBC partnered with TemboSocial to create Makeover Central using TemboSocial Polls for registration and TemboSocial Comments for conversation and collaboration.
TemboSocial implemented Makeover Central with Google Maps integration and a public Blue Water Project Tracker on rbc.com, enabling team pages, photo uploads, likes and comments. The platform reached 24,722 employees across 26 countries, produced 850 Makeover pages, 2,796 participant posts and 632 project photos, helped drive a reported 150% increase in participation since 2013, and made employee makeovers visible alongside more than 1,100 Blue Water grants ($43.9M committed) to the public.
