How Employee Recognition Helped Make American Advisors Group a "Top Workplace"

American Advisors Group (AAG), the nation’s leading reverse mortgage lender with about 1,200 employees across six U.S. offices (including 250 remote workers), needed a more visible, easy-to-manage recognition program that would reinforce core values and work inside their Microsoft SharePoint intranet, myAAG. Their previous “Awesome Awards” program was manager-driven, hard to administer and lacked the broad visibility to engage onsite and remote staff, so AAG selected TemboSocial to deliver a modern social recognition solution.

TemboSocial implemented a corporate‑branded recognition portal, AAG Spotlight, integrated into myAAG and AAG’s active directory so posts include photos and appear in employees’ newsfeeds. The TemboSocial solution shifted recognition from top-down to peer-driven, increased intranet engagement, and delivered measurable impact: AAG Spotlight posts have been viewed nearly 350,000 times, are shared on average 1.9 times, and drive about six click‑throughs per employee (roughly 7,500 unique visits), while improving visibility for remote staff and reducing IT overhead.
