Pets at Home, the UK’s largest pet specialist with 438 stores, 8,300 colleagues and a 3.7 million‑member VIP Club, wanted to make its benefits and recognition culture easier to use and more consistent. Its existing “Treats and Benefits” site was awkward and desktop‑bound, regional recognition was scattered across Facebook pages, and the People team wanted a mobile, consolidated platform that reinforced the company’s core values and made it simple to reward colleagues.

Pets at Home deployed LifeWorks’ mobile‑optimised social recognition platform and perks package, combining peer recognition, internal social features and tailored discounts across 1,000+ retailers and 8,000 restaurants. Since launch in January 2016 the platform has driven over 164,000 recognitions (about 267/day), nearly £140,000 of colleague spending on perks and savings of 7–30% for employees, with rapid adoption and strong positive feedback from managers and staff.
