A TELUS Health Case Study

Preview of the London City Airport Case Study

London City Airport First class support for employee well-being

London City Airport, the fifth busiest airport in the UK serving over 4.5 million passengers and more than 2,000 staff, faced the twin challenges of rapid expansion and a safety‑critical, shift‑based workforce. As the airport undertakes a £480m development that will grow its operations and headcount, leaders prioritized strengthening workplace culture and supporting employee mental, physical and financial well‑being to maintain safety and performance.

To meet this need the airport rolled out LifeWorks’ unified well‑being platform—using a Newsfeed and Recognition tools to reach staff wherever they work, alongside a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme and clinical counselling. The programme improved internal communication, built community through peer recognition, and gave shift workers reliable access to support; staff and managers report higher motivation, better focus and increased productivity as a result.
