LIFT session and LifeWorks improve physical wellbeing at National Bank of Canada

National Bank of Canada faced a sudden shift to remote work in 2020 and worried about the negative impact on employees’ physical and mental wellbeing. Their goals were to reduce the share of inactive employees, increase average physical activity and stress management, and launch an engaging, accessible program for all Canadian staff regardless of fitness level or location.

They ran a 33‑day Corporate Wellness Challenge using LIFT session fitness via the LifeWorks platform, with five executive‑led teams and point-based participation. More than 1,400 employees took part, resulting in a 43% drop in inactive employees, a 40% increase in average weekly activity, 2,612 fitness sessions and 1,814 hours of activity; 93% said they would join another challenge and overall satisfaction scored 8.4.
