Case Study: Canadian Nuclear Laboratories achieves 41% reduction in absenteeism with TELUS Health

A TELUS Health Case Study

Preview of the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Case Study

In nuclear research, total well-being starts with safety

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) is an award‑winning research organization of about 3,200 employees across Canada studying nuclear technology for medicine, biology and power. Staff work in challenging, sometimes remote locations (including the Chalk River HQ) and handle radioactive materials, so safety and workforce well‑being are critical—especially during a major shift from government‑owned to contractor‑owned operations that has added stress and uncertainty.

For 13 years CNL has partnered with LifeWorks by Morneau Shepell to deliver comprehensive well‑being support for employees and their families, including targeted clinical and family assistance for teams like fuel development. Over the last 12 months this support helped reduce absenteeism by 41% and provided more than 4,500 hours of clinical care, with regular use across teams facing high stress.
