G-Core Labs set out to build a world-class content delivery network to serve extremely latency-sensitive users such as MMOG players, but needed both ultra‑low latency and the operational flexibility to handle rapid, unpredictable growth. In 2012 they engaged Telia Carrier for IP Transit and a deeper connectivity partnership to meet those performance and scalability requirements.

Telia Carrier delivered IP Transit plus L2 VPN Ethernet for offices, EVPL for datacenters, 10G/100G wavelength services, colocation and more than 30 IP ports across Europe, the US and Asia—being first to offer 100G on both sides of the Atlantic to enable a flexible 100G backbone. As a result, G-Core Labs scaled to 41 PoPs on four continents, supported up to 1,114,000 simultaneous online gamers (earning a Guinness recognition), and now reliably serves major content customers worldwide thanks to Telia Carrier’s network and ongoing account support.
