Huntsman Cancer Center, part of the University Hospital System in Salt Lake City, faced significant workflow and communication challenges following a major expansion. The new layout created distance between its infusion center, pharmacy, and patient check-in area, replacing face-to-face contact with an inefficient and repetitive series of phone calls. This led to delays, missed messages, and decreased patient satisfaction as staff struggled to coordinate care. TeleTracking implemented its Orchestrate™ solution, creating custom views that allowed all caregivers to track patient progress through appointments. The system was integrated with the hospital's scheduler and included timers to monitor each step. This solution dramatically reduced communication overhead, cutting over 300 daily calls between departments. The new transparency allowed staff to promptly address delays, minimize patient concerns, and eliminate bottlenecks, while automated reporting saved significant manual data collection time.
