A Teletrac Navman Case Study
Griffin Waste Services, a small-container waste-hauler whose trucks log several hundred miles daily, faced rising fuel, maintenance and downtime costs. To improve efficiency and reduce expenses the company deployed Navman Wireless fleet-management tools to gain visibility into vehicle location, usage and driver behavior.
By using GPS tracking, geofence alerts, activity and speed/idling reports and smarter dispatching, Griffin cut idling and speeding, routed the nearest drivers and eliminated about one hour of downtime per driver per day. The program reduced fuel and maintenance costs by more than 10% and delivered roughly $1,042 savings per vehicle per month—about $13,550 monthly and approximately $162,630 annually.
