University of Notre Dame Speeds Fighting Irish game Highlights to Fans with Telestream

The University of Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish Digital Media team needed to get game highlights and behind-the-scenes clips to a global fanbase far faster than their old, decentralized workflow allowed. Previously editors waited for P2 card transfers and manual log-and-transfer processes, which meant it could take two to three hours after a game to post highlights to YouTube—too slow for fans wanting immediate access to big moments.

By installing Telestream Pipeline HD for live HD-SDI capture and Vantage for automated transcoding and workflow orchestration, Notre Dame now ingests network and camera feeds directly to its SAN as ProRes files, lets editors begin cutting during the game, and automates delivery to YouTube. The result: postgame highlights that once took hours are now ready in about 20 minutes, with a more efficient, low-touch process that preserves quality and scales across the university’s many sports and webcasts.
