Case Study: The Lacrosse Network achieves broadcast-quality, cost-effective live YouTube streaming of lacrosse games with Telestream's Wirecast

A Telestream Case Study

Preview of the The Lacrosse Network Case Study

The Lacrosse Network Uses Wirecast to Stream Lacrosse Games on YouTube Live

The Lacrosse Network (TLN) is a Los Angeles–based digital sports broadcaster and Premium YouTube channel that aggregates live and on-demand lacrosse games, documentaries and news programming from leagues across the U.S. and Canada. TLN’s challenge was to cost‑effectively gather and backhaul feeds from many venues with widely varying on‑site production capabilities and network conditions, while maintaining a consistent, broadcast‑quality viewer experience.

TLN solved this by deploying Telestream Wirecast (different versions for pro and basic feeds) to produce, encode and stream 720p HD broadcasts to YouTube Live, remotely monitor and finalize productions from their LA studio, and add graphics, scoreboards and ads. The result is a scalable, low‑cost workflow that preserves high production standards, supports TLN’s 25‑channel network and ~210,000+ subscribers, and drives revenue through advertising and sponsorships.
