Case Study: The B-Cast achieves 1M+ viewers and portable daily live broadcasts with Telestream Wirecast

A Telestream Case Study

Preview of the The B-Cast Case Study

The B-Cast Uses Wirecast to Broadcast Live Daily Interactive Video News Show

The B‑Cast is a live, unscripted 2‑hour daily video news show on Breitbart.tv (4–6 pm ET) covering politics, media, culture and current events. Launched by a veteran TV news COO/co‑founder and partner, the program was designed to feel like a live talk show with active viewer participation via Skype, webcasting and instant messaging. The core challenge was finding a lightweight, portable live‑broadcast solution that would work in a Pittsburgh studio and also travel on the road for a two‑person operation.

The B‑Cast deployed Telestream Wirecast on a laptop (with a Mac Pro studio setup for multi‑camera feeds), using Wirecast’s Desktop Presenter to bring in Skype and other remote sources and leveraging features like chroma key, graphics and titles for a professional look. The affordable, easy‑to‑use setup enabled over 500 hours of live broadcasting, more than one million live and on‑demand viewers in the past year, a growing 2,000‑person Twitter following, and over 600,000 viewer minutes on Livestream in six weeks, with simultaneous streaming to RayV, Livestream and Blip.TV.
