Telestream Scores a Knockout with Video Ingest and Transcode Solutions for the Ultimate Fighting Championship

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), owned by Zuffa, produces massive amounts of footage — 12–18 cameras per event shooting 4.5–5 hours each and an archive of over 30,000 hours — and distributes live and VOD content across ~150 territories and about 100 daily digital endpoints. Facing a tape-based workflow that tied up editors and equipment, UFC needed rapid, scalable ingest and transcoding to turn around content in hours and deliver to hundreds of different formats and licensees.

Levels Beyond’ Reach Engine, integrated with Telestream’s Pipeline (six HD capture systems), Episode (ten transcoding servers in a split-and-stitch cluster) and FlipFactory (four VOD transcoders), ingests ProRes 4:2:2, creates searchable proxies, and automates format-specific outputs. The solution sped workflows, enabled global, metadata-driven clip access, ensured VOD-spec compliance, handled 150+ output formats, and scaled capacity without major staff increases.
