Soto Studio Uses Wirecast to Produce VOD Lectures for Master of Public Health Online Program and Flipped Classrooms

Soto Studio, operated by the Department of Preventive Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, used Telestream Wirecast to produce video-on-demand lectures for the online Master of Public Health program and flipped-classroom courses. The studio’s challenge was to deliver broadcast-quality videos quickly and reliably for busy faculty who have limited time, are not professional on-camera talent, and need recordings completed—often by the end of the business day—without lengthy technical setups or retakes.

By adopting Wirecast with Desktop Presenter and a streamlined greenscreen workflow, Soto Studio enables single-operator switching, real-time keying of slides and web content, and minimal on-set crew so professors can record comfortably and efficiently. The result is a fast, reliable production that yields about 20 finished HD hours weekly, integrates into the LMS and streaming platforms, increases faculty adoption across campus, and supports flipped-classroom engagement with professional-quality VOD lectures.
