Mediakinetic helps Activision Launch Call of Duty Black Ops with Wirecast

Mediakinetic, a UK TV and video production firm, was hired by Activision to produce and broadcast the UK launch event for Call of Duty: Black Ops — a five‑hour live show at Battersea Power Station with feeds from eight mobile cameras and remote store links. The challenge was to deliver a high‑production, highly reliable webstream to a potentially huge online audience while mixing live and pre‑recorded material.

Mediakinetic used Telestream Wirecast (with Wirecast Desktop Presenter over Skype) to switch multiple cameras, integrate edited footage, graphics and captions, and stream to Ustream from a single MacBook Pro. The result was a flawless 5+ hour webcast to over 183,000 live viewers, wide social engagement (1.2M Facebook followers and millions of trailer views), and support for record‑breaking game sales worldwide.
