The Los Angeles Chargers, custodians of a 60-year video archive and increasingly producing 4K/8K content, faced aging NAS systems that couldn’t meet performance or petabyte-scale needs. Much of their historical material sat on Beta, VHS and DVD and was offline and unsearchable, while varied camera formats and the need for remote editorial workflows made migration and day-to-day operations costly and cumbersome.

SoDA deployed quickly into the Chargers’ VM environment to migrate assets to a high-performance SAN, integrate with Reach Engine MAM and Telestream Vantage for GPU-accelerated transcoding, and automate policy-based movement to AWS with dry-run cost modeling and real-time cloud analytics. The outcome was an online, searchable archive, faster ingest-to-delivery workflows with remote proxy editing, reduced IT effort, and lower on-prem storage costs through elastic cloud use.
