APTN Incorporates GLIM to Shore Up Remote Capabilities

APTN, the national Indigenous broadcaster serving over 10 million Canadian households and streaming viewers via APTN lumi, faced a major operational challenge when COVID-19 forced more than 75% of staff to work from home. Promotions and operations teams needed to review large, mezzanine-quality master files for QC, dubbing and subtitling, but downloading multi-gigabyte files or creating proxies caused long delays and workflow disruption.

APTN deployed Telestream GLIM (five concurrent users on a 10-user pool plus a GLIM Server) to enable full-resolution, browser-based playback from centralized storage. Integrated with their existing Lightspeed Live Capture and Vantage workflows, GLIM eliminated lengthy downloads, reduced bandwidth strain by keeping masters on the corporate network, and restored fast, reliable remote QC and shotlisting—allowing the team to meet broadcast timelines and confidently support hybrid work going forward.
