Case Study: Adstream achieves scalable, cost-efficient cloud media processing with Telestream Vantage

A Telestream Case Study

Achieving Real-World Benefits Through Vantage Virtualization

Adstream, a London‑headquartered global ad services network with more than 27,000 customers and over 2 million media assets, provides a unified cloud platform for managing creative, production, distribution and reporting of ad campaigns. Because media processing tasks (transcoding, closed captioning, watermarking, loudness and quality checks, format conversions) can spike from tens to thousands of concurrent jobs, Adstream’s on‑premises hardware risked over‑provisioning and couldn't cost‑effectively meet peak demand while maintaining exacting technical specs.

To solve this, Adstream virtualized Telestream Vantage on an AWS IaaS private cloud, exposing Vantage via RESTful APIs and reusing existing Python scripts so processing can scale automatically and be billed pay‑as‑you‑go. The result is greater scalability, flexibility and cost control, integrated end‑to‑end workflows (captioning, watermarking, LKFS loudness, transcoding, NTSC/PAL conversion), a ~40% reduction in captioning manhours, secure integration with AWS S3/RDS and 75,000 distribution endpoints, and freed staff time to improve customer‑facing features.
