Aardvark Hill Uses Wirecast to Stream Oregon Children’s Choral Festival

Aardvark Hill, a small publisher co-founded by Bruce and Jennifer Searl, needed a cost-effective way to produce and record a professional live webcast of the annual Oregon Children’s Choral Festival at the Hult Center. The event required multi-camera HD video, high-quality audio, continuous six- to seven-hour streaming, pay-per-view capability via a low-cost CDN, DVD and VOD recordings, and a setup simple enough for a volunteer operator on a tight budget.

They implemented Telestream Wirecast with consumer-grade webcams and a modest laptop, audio mixer and signal converter, USB extenders and DaCast for distribution, with strong technical support from Telestream. The result was dependable, multi-camera HD live streams and simultaneous recordings for DVD and VOD that looked far more professional than the cost would suggest, generated online revenue, and proved easy for a single operator to run.
