Channel 4 and Little Dot Studios wanted to boost engagement for documentary programming around the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. They turned to Telescope for live streaming support, using Telescope’s Live Studio platform to help recreate the historic event with archive NASA video, photography, and reconstructed visuals.
Telescope live streamed six days of content in 2-hour segments, creating one continuous stream for YouTube Live and daily 24-hour streams for Facebook Live, with 24/7 support throughout the event and on-screen labels identifying the footage as archive material. The campaign was a strong success: globally, Channel 4 ranked #3 for “moon landing” video views, outperforming CBS News and NASA live streams, and achieved the most-viewed Moon Landing Live Stream.
