Fox News wanted to give Facebook users a way to submit questions for the first Republican Presidential Debate of the 2016 election and get the audience involved in shaping the conversation. The company worked with Telescope using its Uploader product to collect photo, video, and text submissions for consideration on-air.
Telescope’s solution let Fox News moderate incoming submissions in Telescope’s CONNECT platform, select approved questions, and send them to VizRT for live on-air visualization alongside users’ Facebook profile photos and videos. The campaign drove 40,000 questions before the debate, 6 million views, and 1.3 million views on the Facebook CTA post, and it was named a 2016 Shorty Awards finalist for Best Integration with Live TV.
