The Great American Read Vote Multi-channel voting to determine America’s favorite book

Telescope worked with PBS and Storythings on The Great American Read Vote, a multi-channel voting campaign for the 2018 PBS series. PBS needed a way to let viewers in the US and Canada participate across several stages of the voting window and choose their favorite books through easy, engaging voting options.

Using Telescope’s Standard Vote, Social Vote, SMS/Text-Messaging, and Toll-Free products, the campaign let fans vote online, via Facebook and Twitter hashtags, by text, and by phone. Telescope helped power participation and social buzz throughout the series, culminating in the live announcement of the winning book, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, on the final episode.
