Scotiabank wanted to create a more engaging Hockey Day experience, build social chatter, and increase viewership for the event’s games across Canada. Telescope provided a custom experiential on-site solution using a social wall, social vote, and Connect Live tools to help bring fan participation into the celebration.
Telescope built a real-time Twitter Wall featuring moderated posts from the #HockeyDay hashtag and a Twitter Poll that let fans vote for the seven Canadian NHL teams, with results affecting the color of the rink lights. The activation drove heavy UGC participation, and only 10% of submitted content was ultimately featured on the Jumbotron/Twitter Wall over the weekend, showing strong fan engagement and a steady flow of content throughout the event.
